Chargify instructions for subscription modifications and cancellations

Within the Chargify portal you will be able to self-manage account modifications as well as upload unsubscriptions. In the left panel you will need to select Billing Portal and then Subscriber Interface.

The Billing Portal allows you to perform certain actions within an account, such as modifying a plan or unsubscribing. 


Plan Change

You have the option to move services using the "Change Plan" button within the Plan Details section. Once selected, you will be presented with the following options:

Once you have chosen the desired new plan, you will have a preview of the plan change details:

You will be able to view the following information before confirming the changes:

  1. Payment method
  2. Prorated credit
  3. Amount due
  4. Subscription renewal date.

Whether there is a cost for this change and when the product change occurs depends on the default settings for product changes in the Billing Portal. 

Once the changes have been made, you will receive the following information:

Payment method: Invoice or automatic.

Details: You will receive the charges, changes and any proration credits.

In addition, the subtotal, existing balance and new charges will be assessed. Any outstanding subscription balance will be paid at this time if there is a plan change.


Cancel Plan

You have the option to cancel your account through the Plan Details section of the Billing Portal. Once you have selected the option to cancel the plan, you will be presented with an option to cancel immediately or at the end of the period. Once a cancellation has been made, it cannot be undone.

You will need to select a reason why you are requesting cancellation, and then you will be able to provide more information in the box at the bottom of the screen.

Remember that once the cancellation has been processed, it cannot be recovered.
