What is meant by disambiguation?

By “disambiguation”, we are referring to the process that the Virtual Assistant goes through when trying to clarify or resolve an ambiguity, doubt or uncertainty posed by a query that generates a conflict in the Bot’s ability to understand.

For example, when faced with lengthy questions or with several topics within the same interaction, the Bot tries to find the correct answer based on the most frequent intentions, or the one that is most appropriate based on the obligatory words within the same query.

In that case, the Bot will respond by asking the user to clarify the ambiguity and will provide two options to select the correct one. If neither option matches the user’s intention, the user can reformulate.
